A plumbing permit is required to ensure that all plumbing systems comply with the National Plumbing Code.
Expiration of Permit:
A plumbing permit expires if the work is not commenced within 180 days of the issuance of the permit or if no work is carried out under the permit for a period of 180 consecutive days. Upon written application made prior to the expiry of the permit, the Manager may extend the time period for a permit by an additional 180 days.
A person may apply for a refund of a plumbing permit (other than annual maintenance permits) if no work has been carried out under the permit and the application for a refund is made within 90 days of the permit issuance. The repayable portion of the fees shall be the original amount less 20% or the minimum permit fee (whichever is greater).
